Welcome to the wedding world! What a wonderful place! Full of love, family, and dreams come true.
I remember the first wedding my family catered. I was seven years old and a family from our church approached my dad about catering their daughter's wedding. It was exciting to be part of the wedding reception which coincidentally was at the steelworkers union hall -- future home of the Continental Ballroom. I even remember what we served -- deli platters and salads.
Now 28 years later, our family has been blessed to be part of more than 700 couples' very special day. We are privileged to spend an average of six to 18 months with couples getting to know them and their families. These couples become part of the Rozzi family.
I am humbled when people hire Rozzi's Catering for their wedding reception. We have the honor to serve the newlywed's first meal. The best part of my job is hearing the couple introduced for the first time and the roar of the guests cheering. I get goose bumps every time.
When I was interviewing at culinary school, I was asked why I wanted to be a chef. My answer: "I love making people smile through food. It is a wonderful feeling to see a room full of people who all have different tastes enjoying a meal together that you created." When that room is celebrating a special occasion like a wedding, it is even better.
As the 2011 wedding season begins, Jennifer and I wish all our brides and grooms a blessed future. We also welcome our future brides and grooms and thank them for choosing us for their special day. May God bless our past couples, newlyweds and future couples.
